Music for Sprouts is an Early Childhood Education program that focuses on music and movement for 0-3 year olds. We are based in Shelburne/South Burlington, VT at Bread and Butter Farm. We have partnered with the community farm to create a unique musical experience that takes full advantage of the natural working farm landscape. We begin each class in the farm's cozy bakery space. With the smell of fresh baked bread lingering in the air we jump right in to activities that inspire laughter, wonder, and warmth between parents, and caregivers, and their children. On nice days classes may end with a parade to see the cows, or a musical adventure to the hoophouse to see and taste growing greens and vegetables. Any day of the week Bread and Butter Farm encourages families to enjoy this natural landscape on their own.

Engaging our children in musical activity at a young age, and throughout their lives, is widely believed to aid in their social, intellectual, and emotional development. In our classes we encourage the parents and caregivers to play an active role in their child's experience. As we are playing together we will also share tid bits about how certain games and exercises help our kiddos grow. To deepen the experience we will offer ideas and tools for parents and caregivers to create space for children to explore sound, have fun, and feel accomplished.

We write original songs and use traditional music from around the world to engage children and respect their intelligence. We also imagine that if parents like the music then it is more likely to be shared at home!

Each week of a session families will receive an email including information about upcoming events, reflections on class, and links to music and concepts we use in class.

SIGN UP NOW! When developing curriculum for classes we keep three age groups in mind:
Ones
(0 - 20 months)
Twos
(20 months - 2 ½ years)
Threes
(2 ½ years - 3 ½ years)
Depending on demand we do our best to group children into their age groups. However, we recognize and appreciate the beauty of what can grow in diverse age settings and we are open to mixed age classes. Plus, we know that if you are interested in bringing two or more of your children to class that they will most likely be different in age so we welcome you to do so and even offer a multiple child discount.
